Hi all again! I was finally able to resolve the problem!
For the archive: -> the automatical configuration of xserver-xfree86 after downloading with dselect didn't work and hangs! kill with Ctrl-C -> configure with xf86config, because xf86cfg just left me with a black screen (seems to have problems with the Geforce 2 MX card) -> link the X-Server with: ln -s /usr/X11/bin/XFree86 /etc/X11/X -> start with startx now everything works! (except mouse -> disable mouse repetition with gpmconf) thx to all that provided me with help! have fun, Michael Bartl -----Ursprüngliche Nachricht----- Von: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Gesendet: Dienstag, 14. There it hangs at the package xserver-xfree86 forever... can someone please explain why? should i just ignore it?
