I believe that you have questions that would be better asked on the
netfilter mailing list. As I read the mail on that list, netfilter is
a 'work in progress'. Questions such as yours are posted there daily.
As the developers are on that list, you are more likely to get your
answers from there. A reading the the archives might be in order as
well.
