I am using the 2.4.7 kernel. I thought it was an installation problem. I just checked it out. ls -l /usr/share/man/man1/uuidgen.1.gz p-wx--xr-x 1 1577316331 1225489793 0 Feb 20 1910 /usr/share/man/man1/uuidgen.1.gz I deleted that file and then the upgrade went on smoothly. Does that mean that the vm bug still exists or the possible reason is that it was due to a improper shutdown? thank you regards harsha
