dselect worked perfectly. Then I attempted to use it, instead of dpkg, to install a *.deb file off my disk. I found my mistake, and sucessfully installed with dpkg -i. However, now dselect hangs on "update", and dselect cannot list any packages not on "binary-1". I would be tempted to use dpkg to remove and reinstall dslect, but that might remove dpkg too, then I would have no way to re-install packages without erasing the disk and reinstalling the complete system.
How do I reinstall or re-initialize dslect? Donald Daniel [EMAIL PROTECTED]
