Hello! i am setting up a new machine, and am again confronted with the setting up of a mouse....
this time i didn't managed to set up the mouse under X directly, in any case it behaves strangely and i can't test it conveniently under XF86Setup, the program ends nearly immediately with a core dump.... but, strangely enough gpm managed to use the mouse correctly.... i am running under unstable with a cordless logitech kbd+mouse (maybe the type is Y-RA1), The whole thing is a wheelmouse, so if it could be possible to setup also some function to the wheel... BTW i tryed Intellimouse as one of the first protocols for the mouse... anyway, as usual i have the same problem as ever when reading from gpmdata: No way to get the 3rd button to work, acutally i have to work with emulate3buttons and hit the 2 external buttons to get the 3rd one... thats a problem i never managed to solve and that is present on all my other systems (i solved it by throwing out gpm...) but now i am kinda stuck with gpm, so is there a way to get the 3rd button (and maybe the wheel) to work correctly? ciao bboett ============================================================== [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://inforezo.u-strasbg.fr/~bboett http://erm1.u-strasbg.fr/~bboett =============================================================== the total amount of intelligence on earth is constant. human population is growing....
