Thanks to all of you that have been willing to submit help for my previous posting (Zip drive problems). However, I can still not figure out how to get this thing working. I am using a USB 100 Mb Iomega Zip drive, have hotplug, modutils, usbutils, ifupdown installed, have built into the kernel usb-storage, usb-core, ide-scsi, sg. I have tried all of what have been suggested in the answers for the previous posting. Trying to mount the drive as /dev/sdYX where X can be any number and Y can be a, d etc, does not produce any results - still get the answer that sdaX is not a block device. When I try to run fdisk on /dev/sda, I get the message back "unable to open /dev/sda". I have created a mount point /zip , and in the /dev/fstab I have added /dev/sda4 /zip auto rw,user,nosuid,sync,mode=0777 0
