I'm a bit in the dark here, i don't have any maildir* command in my debian box, also i'm using cyrus-imapd. I've read a few post regarding this problem and it always seems to be related to a imap config problem, however, the solutions found to work are always diferent, and i still couldn't figure out what is wrong.
