I had the same sort of problems you did... actually, I'm not sure I ever even got X to come up properly using the i810 driver with XFree 3.3.6 and kernel 2.2.x. I wanted to run newer software anyway, so I dist-upgraded to Sid (kernel 2.4 and XFree 4 weren't in Woody yet at that point) and I've been much happier since then. Craig
