I've taken a little time recently to clean out and fine tune my system
(mostly woody). As part of that, I upgraded to kernel 2.4.6. The
following messages now appear at boot time:

  PCI: Probing PCI hardware
Unknown bridge resource 0: assuming transparent
PCI: Using IRQ router VIA [1106/0686] at 00:07.0
* PCI: Cannot allocate resource region 0 of device 01:00.0
* PCI: Failed to allocate resource 0(d8000000-d8ffffff) for 01:00.0
* PCI: Disabling Via external APIC routing

This is an all SCSI system, with a Tekram DC-390U2W SCSI bus to PCI
adapter. Device 01:00.0 is the Matrox G400 video-card, for which lspci
reports:

Does anyone know if there is cause for concern in these warnings and,
if so, how might things be fixed? I have had some issues with the
performance I'm getting from the card.

Thanks in advance,

Jim
