I am using X4 from woody and gdm. Sometimes when I log out of GNOME I get the greyish screen and gdm doesn't reappear. If I log in to a vc I can restart gdm and everything is fine, but I am the only user of the system who can restart gdm. Has anyone else seen this or know how I can determine the cause? I see nothing in the /var/log/gdm/ files and nothing in the syslog.
