'dpkg --remove xserver-xfree86' will cause you to not see that
error...but that's probably not what you wanted to do.  :-)

Really, this:
        _X11TransSocketUNIXConnect: Can't connect: errno = 111
is never the actual error message; it means that something like
'startx' tried to start the X server and then other things, except
that the X server didn't properly start.  You need to look at the
lines before this one to figure out what's actually wrong.
