You could try instad of using the -b option, using the
i586-mingw32msvc-* tools
eg to complie win stuff I just use
$ i586-mingw32msvc-gcc -o helloworld.exe helloworld.c -mwindows
and then you can run your newly created app under wine :)
$ wine helloworld.exe &
