You've checked that the parallel port is enabled... if its a newer computer... then you can set the parallel port to different settings such that the port will talk both ways....or not..... (Some newer printers won't work unless bi-directional port) It would suck to do all kinds of configuring in Linux and then find out it was a stupid port setting..... I agree with Tom on the /etc/resolv.conf If you can ping .......your on your way!! Mike
