I'll just mention, though, that it took me a total of about 15 seconds to modify my Windows key: started xkeycaps, left-click on the Windows key on the displayed keyboard, and picked "Edit Keysyms of Key". Of course, I still don't know much about X modmap syntax... but I never had to look up whether Menu was a valid keysym or not. john> Not everybody thinks better in GUI; some of us prefer text.
