There are unofficial nisplus packages available if you put the following lines in your sources.list. deb http://www.realbodo.de/ debian/ deb-src http://www.realbodo.de/ debian/ I haven't tried this myself, but they can't be worse than the tarball put out by Thorsten Kukuk.
