I am trying to set up rarp on an Intel PC to boot a Sun Sparcstation via Ethernet. When I try to issue the command:
kerr:/home/jkanders# rarp -s 200.17.212.11 36:a0:99:45:f0:48 SIOCSRARP: Invalid argument kerr:/home/jkanders# The documentation from the Debian Sparc Installation notes, explains that the above warning message is because RARP is not compiled into the kernel. The only thing in the kernel configuration (v.2.4.0) that I could find about RARP, is for a client set up and not a Server set up. Any suggestions. :-) Note: please forward any correspondence directly to me, since I don't currently belong to this list. Thanks in advance. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- ......... John Kerr Anderson `:::' ....... ......
