With the latest woody upgrade I started getting errors that apt.conf had extra characters. It used to be I could start a line with # to comment it out. That doesn't work anymore. I'm also not sure if // still works.
/* comment like this works */ So, if you happen to be using the other comment syntaxes, you may need to change apt.conf.
