The libc_nonshared.a is in the libc-dev package. If someone is reading this while trying to follow the instructions from the discussion list on the Oracle site... The libc_nonshared is in the usr/lib directory. If you are not trying to install Oracle... Sorry for disturbing you. When (if?) I finish I will try to document the procedure in the Oracle lists.
