Hi All, I've been having some problems on shutdown. My box goes through the usual routine but then near the end I get an error message:
Warning can't open file: /var/run/shutdown.pid (recalled from memory so that might not be exactly the right warning) and then it prompts for the root password for maintenance. At this point I usually reissue the shutdown command four or five times and then it does shut down. Any ideas? Thanks, Andy
