So I guess the problem must be gdm's fault: ii Brian> gdm 2.0-0.beta4.15 GNOME Display Manager No. It is the xserver's fault. Whenever I change to the X server console, it takes, say around 30 seconds for the keyboard to become re-enabled. The only reason I didn't notice it with startx, is because gnome programs seem to take ages to load (another bug). I find this fairly annoying. Has anyone else experienced similar problems? Oh, just to rule this out: snoopy:unstable:~# fuser -v /dev/vc/7 USER PID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/vc/7 root 15413 f.... XFree86 only one process is accessing the console -- Brian May <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
