I am a little confused about making a boot CD for installation of Debian. I do not want to just download the whole iso image as I only want the base system so that networking / ppp can be setup and then can apt-get the rest of the packages needed.
I figured that since there are 12 or so installation floppies then it should only take about 20Mb of data. I know that all the required files exist in: http://ftp.au.debian.org/pub/debian/dists/stable/main/disks-i386/current/ My question is how do I make the CD bootable. I assume I use the /images-2.88/rescue.bin file and somehow write this to the CD so that it boots. Also, is this possible to write the CD using Windows, as I can't get my usb HP CD Writer Plus to work with Debian yet? Sorry if this question has been answered before. I have been searching with google and reading everything I can find but still don't get it. Regards. Mark.
