Hi,

I'm trying to get my C-Media CM8738 on-board audio controller to
work properly but I'm not having success.
I built a custom kernel (2.4.3) with the proper module; I
loaded the module and it correctly detects my hardware; I can play cd's
but I can't use any mixer.
When I try to configure, e.g., KDE sound notifications, I have
"no sound card installed" or "Sorry, no information available about
Soundcard!"
        My hardware is (from lspci):

ASUS MB with VIA Apollo PRO133x (VT82C693A/694x) Host Bridge
VT82C598/694x [Apollo MVP3/Pro133x AGP PCI Bridge
Multimedia audio controller: C-Media Electronics Inc CM8738 (rev 10)

        Kernel messages (some) are:

cmpci: version v2.41-nomodem time 07:58:13 Apr 17 2001
cmpci: found CM8738 adapter at io 0xb800 irq 10

        I loaded the modules:

sound 57136 0
cmpci 21696 0 (unused)
soundcore 4016 6 [sound cmpci]

I'm using unstable with 2.4.3 kernel
        Any help?
