        Hmmm so how do I disable it(DMA) and does it mean a very poor 
perfermance?
Also, what harddisk are you using?

while i dont use 2.4.3 i do have a P3V4X and had problems with the IDE
controller
(or the IDE drivers) under 2.2.x so i replaced the controller with a promise
ultra ata100 and haven't had any problems since.. doesnt seem like DMA is a
safe
thing on the P3V4X's chipset.
