1. installed suidmanager (after looking over dpkg -l perl*) 2. vi /var/lib/dpkg/info/perl-5.004-suid.*rm 3. hash out set -e from script set -e is [apparently] used to kill the post install removal program if there are errors, so once the line was hashed out the script continued, and the upgrade of perl-suid went like a dream. > Hello again: > I'm out of ideas.
