I set up cups on my system with a LJIIIp with a PS cartridge (level 1). It prints PS just fine, but the printer doens't realize the job is done. How can I notify the printer it is done, other than pressing the "reset" button on the panel?
Also, I can spit plain text out of it (in PCL mode), but it has the stair stepping problem. I could specify a mime type for text/plain and convert it, but I want this setting only for this printer, not all printers. How can I specify a filter for this printer only? Do I need to learn how to write PPD files? (the laserjet one that comes with cups didn't seem to make a difference, and is probably made for newer ljets) BTW, Potato (my system) has CUPS 1.0.x Thanks, -D
