Depends how much you leave in "/". If "/" only has "/etc", "/bin", "/root", "/lib", "/boot", "/dev", "/mnt", "/sbin", "/proc", and "/initrd", then 50 MB should be more than enough. If you don't have "/tmp" and "/var" mounted elsewhere, you'll need a considerably larger partition (especially for "/var"). The "/var" directory itself is a good candidate for splitting up into multiple partitions. Also, don't forget about /usr/local (which you might want separated from /usr). -- Eric G.
