gcc, vim, also get familiar with various utilities like tags, cflow, debugger (gdb, it's easier to use withe.g. ddd frontend) etc. there is quite a lot of various utilities for programmers, don't fall for the trap you need special ide for programming, properly working unix (linux) user environment is your ide. and it's far more flexible. erik
