It's pretty simple. Here I am on a home network of 1 computer. Why would I need networked X? Now, say I have DSL, and don't know anything about firewalling off port 6000-7. Potentially, someone could try to hijack my X session (really don't know if this happens to often). Now, if X is running as root...
