You could try starting 'xterm -ut' or 'rxvt -ut' instead to inhibit writing to the utmp file. rxvt also has an X resource you can set to do this for all rxvts: it's documented in the man page. Cheers, -- Colin Watson [EMAIL PROTECTED]
