Yes Linux does support nVidia, In the menu of drivers you would pick the "nv" in the list.. But if you plan to play Quake3 or UT or similar, You will have to go to nVidia.com and downlaod the detonator 3 drivers for linux, and after installing them you will have to edit your XF86Config-4 (i think this is it) and scroll down till you see Section Device and change Driver to "nvidia" with the quotes.
