Hi all, I just did an apt-get upgrade on my testing box. It was discussed before that X may be broken for the time being, but my problem is a little different.
startx runs the old version, 3.3.6 I have the XF86Config-4 file ready to go. I've looked over the tree of X scripts, binaries, and conf files (xinit, startx, X, XFree86, xserverrc, ...) required to run X, but cannot find anywhere that specifies whether to run the old 3.3.6 or the new 4.0.2. /usr/X11R6/bin/X is running server 3.3.6 (despite it's parent package being 4.0.2-1) /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 -version says 4.0.2 $ dpkg -S /usr/X11R6/bin/X /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 xserver-common: /usr/X11R6/bin/X xserver-xfree86: /usr/X11R6/bin/XFree86 $ dpkg -l xserver-common xserver-xfree86 ii xserver-common 4.0.2-1 files and utilities common to all X servers ii xserver-xfree8 4.0.2-1 the XFree86 X server All other X packages are 4.0.2-1 as well (as layed out by task-x-window-system-core) Does anyone know why it's still running 3.3.6?
