Well i have both perl-5.6 and 5.005 installed. Dont recall how i did that but i always use apt-get:
/usr/bin/perl-5.005 /usr/bin/perl5.6.0 -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
