I just added TT fonts with xfs-xtt in XFree-4 so this should work for you. Definitely use ttmkfdir to make fonts.scale then mkfontdir for fonts.dir. I got a ttmkfdir tgz off the net, don't recall where. But you also want to create a fonts.alias if you use Netscape, otherwise you only get one font size in Netscape. It makes a big difference and scales the fonts properly so Netscape looks very good. I got a script mkfontalias.py from //home.c2i.net which does the trick. That url has all the info you need to complete the job.Its definitely worth all the trouble. -- ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
