I am using Debian 2.2r2 (potato) and am having a problem posting with trn (trn_3.6-13_i386) that apt-get installed. I am using trn while connected to my ISP (in other words, I am reading news off of my ISP's news server).
I attempt to post via : : End of newsgroup misc.test : : What next? f [Minor question - Is there any other way to post?] : : Subject: test : Distribution: world : : Are you absolutely sure you want to do this? y : : [Edit article] : : Check spelling, Send, Abort, Edit, or List? s but then I get : inews: From header: address syntax error : : inews: article in /home/bfkelly/dead.article Here is what I see in dead.article : Newsgroups: misc.test : Path: not-for-mail : From: Blair Kelly <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> : Subject: test : Date: 15 Jan 2001 08:24:19 GMT : Organization: home : Lines: 2 : Reply-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] : Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> : : Test 1 Looking at the "From:" line I see my name, my local user name and my hostname. The address after the @ sign is suspicious because it does not have any dot in it. Yet I can not find any trn environment variable that lets me set the From: line or any discussion in the documentation as to how the From: line is set. Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
