The big question on performance:  How does a single 1 GHz CPU compare to dual
500 MHz CPU's for performanace?  For cost?  (I'm sure the dual 500s are
cheaper, but by how much?  And don't forget to include the extra cost of the
dual-CPU mobo...)  Power consumption?

Today you are, at least.  I've heard the occasional rumor that dual AMD mobos
may be available as soon as Q1 2001 (i.e., within the next couple months).
They're vapor until the hit the shelf, of course, but that's what I'm waiting
for before trying SMP for myself.
