in that tar should be a file called patch-2.2.5 patch the kernel your using and compile it the normal way through make config, menuconfig or xconfig depending on what you like. i've been doing just that for over a year now and it works good. although recent kernels seem to have decent support for hte newer 3c905 cards however i havent tried a TXM card yet(afaik) nate
