Unresolved symbol umoddi3 in sendmail

I've recently installed Debian 3.0 on my SPARC. Initial install went fine however since updating and upgrading my packages, sendmail fails to start with the following error:

sendmail: relocation error: sendmail: undefined symbol: __umoddi3

Searched around the archives and on google with leads to potential issues in glibc, but no solutions.

Any help appreciated.
