That was because the important README files was not included in the
binary package. After compiling Woody's ocaml-3.00 it and installing
its .debs it was still the case. Searching in the source helped me to
find the two REAME files. Although everything there did not
work as described, I have at least an ocaml-mode working now in emacs.
