If you have the "sendmail" line in your muttrc file commented out,
then I assume that mutt is using the default value.  The manual gives
it as follows:

  6.3.176.  sendmail

  Type: path
  Default: "/usr/sbin/sendmail -oem -oi"

  Specifies the program and arguments used to deliver mail sent by Mutt.
  Mutt expects that the specified program interprets additional
  arguments as recipient addresses.
