Hey, What are you using as a font name? You just use any font that X recognizes (use xfontsel to get the font-name). With aterm, i use the font "-ormaxx-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*". I'm guessing you were just trying something like -fn "courier"? xfontsel will be your friend.
