i've had this problem for a while and finally concluded it must be something with IPMASQ.
frequently i lose SSH connections to remote machines if they are idle for too long. last night i lost a connection that is outside my MASQ'd network but still on a local lan message is: tux:/home/aphro# Read from remote host tux.linuxpowered.net: Connection reset by peer Connection to tux.linuxpowered.net closed. debug: Transferred: stdin 284, stdout 10929, stderr 114 bytes in 8024.4 seconds debug: Bytes per second: stdin 0.0, stdout 1.4, stderr 0.0 debug: Exit status -1 debug: compress outgoing: raw data 1807, compressed 1417, factor 0.78 debug: compress incoming: raw data 12550, compressed 6295, factor 0.50 i suppose i could increase the timeout for ipmasq ?? but for something like SSH i would like it never to timeout .. any ideas ?? thanks! nate -- ::: ICQ: 75132336 http://www.aphroland.org/ http://www.linuxpowered.net/ [EMAIL PROTECTED]
