It is the right thing provided that you used a potato (or stable) archive in your /etc/apt/sources.list. > But how can I install this package in Debian in order to use the ISDN card > with it? > > I also mounted the other partition (with isdnutils on it) in Debian and told > apt-get to use this path. But if I understood it right, I have to download > ALL the packages from the FTP-Server in order to install some of them. > You don't have to download ALL the packages from the FTP-Server in order to install some of them. apt-get and Debian packaging system are smart enough to get you whatever you need when you are trying to install some package. However I am not sure whether a defualt potato kernel has isdn support compiled in. Are you getting lines that do not begin with the hash mark (#) when you run grep ISDN /boot/config* ? > Ok thats it. I hope someone of you could understand my explanations and will > try to help me. What you did so far seems fine. Just keep going and you'll have what you want. Beside help from this list, take a look at /usr/share/doc/isdnutils once you'll have it installed. > Thanks > J.
