Hi there. Before spending money on a new system you should really think about switching to a more Unix like way of handling mail.
There are several programs which are very powerful when dealing with mail, and because they are used at the shell or out of a script they don't consume nearly as much memory as Netscape or Gnome. For example I use a combination of exim, fetchmail, procmail and mutt. (I assume you have a dialup internet connection, too otherwise fetchmail is not needed) -Exim delivers local and remote mail, -fetchmail gets your messages of the server (can be configured to check all your e-mail addresses in one run) -procmail sorts the messages to various files, (is not needed but very useful if you are subscribed to a few mailinglists) -mutt finally is a text-based mail reader Hope I convinced you ;-) Nikolai. -- +-----------------+ | Escape the | | Gates of hell. | | | http://www.debian.org | Use Linux. | +-----------------+
