I am running unstable, kernel 2.2.17, I noticed that sometimexconsole eats up about 50% of memory as reported by top. it usually happens afterthere have been a LOT of messages, but messages stopped coming few hours ago and the memory usage by xconsole did not go down.
any ideas? is that a bug of xconsole? also notice that it used a lot of CPU cycles (not at the snapshot time but overall, in TIME column) 4:56pm up 4 days, 14:40, 5 users, load average: 0.45, 0.60, 0.39 72 processes: 70 sleeping, 2 running, 0 zombie, 0 stopped CPU states: 9.7% user, 7.1% system, 0.0% nice, 83.2% idle Mem: 79692K av, 77880K used, 1812K free, 51100K shrd, 1652K buff Swap: 243104K av, 220584K used, 22520K free 49976K cached PID USER PRI NI SIZE RSS SHARE STAT LIB %CPU %MEM TIME COMMAND 4090 root 0 0 66780 32M 33572 S 0 0.0 42.2 160:40 xconsole 13785 erik 11 0 36784 12M 7484 S 0 4.0 16.1 24:22 communicator-sm 4079 root 15 0 168M 9088 1972 R 0 4.0 11.4 139:56 XFree86 TIA erik
