I've just added two more serial ports into my computer (for a total of six). I added support into the kernel for > than 4 serial ports. I added more ports with the MAKEDEV command, but I get the following message when I try to access the 5th or 6th port:
kerr:~# statserial /dev/ttyS4 statserial: TIOCMGET failed: Input/output error Any suggestions? I tried connecting my modem to it with no response at all. All serial ports are using separate interrupts that are not conflicting to my knowledge.
