Thanks! I installed libc5, that fixed the initial problem. Then it
started showing 'can't load library "libxpm.so.4"', so I once again
searched Corel's knowledge base, and found that you had to install the
libxpm from the /oldlibs folder of the Debian CD. Finally it works!
Still learning...

If you install the xlib6 (no g) package, you should probably be fine.
Try running 'apt-get install xlib6'; it might want to install libc5,
too, but that's fine.
(xlib6, and presumably WordPerfect as well, is built against the older
Linux libc 5.x; Debian 2.0 and later are based on GNU libc 2.x,
sometimes known as libc 6.x. The two are different enough that
completely different versions of libraries are needed for things.)
