Hello,
I'm a new Debian user and have a problem with apt-cache and dselect using the source package CDs: They don't know about the source packages! I can use apt-get to fetch and build the source once I know the package I want, followed by calling dpkg to install it. Since in theory source packages are just one step away from prebuilt ones[1], I'd like apt to consider them equal. Except it would have to build them before installing. Have I missed an argument to the programs, or something silly like that? I'd much appreciate any help. Regards, Joonas [1] Especially true in Debian thanks to the great work by the maintainers.
