I am in the process of migrating from Windows to Debian and am gradually setting up all the bits I'm going to need in order to dump Windows entirely. I've hit a stumbling block with my email archives - I've been using Microsoft Outlook Express 5. It saves mailbox files in a weird format that even Word can't read, and it can't export to anything useful. It can save individual files as plain text, but since I have many hundreds of them, I'd rather not do that.
Does anyone know, is there a utility for converting OE5 files to something Linux can read? Or a way of automating the coversion to text of hundreds of old messages? I know I brought this problem on myself but please help. Eleanor Joslin
