I'm having some problems creating databases with Oracle 8i (8.1.6) on a
freshly-installed woody box.

The Oracle HOWTO says to use RedHat, but I'm quite addicted to 'dselect'. I
have been able to use Oracle on RedHat 6.2 without any problems at all.

I can get it to install fine, and the listener will run properly, but on
creation of a database, dbassist stops at 2% and sits there (the second stage,
"Creating Database Files"). I noticed that Oracle pretty much requires the
original-awk installed, with a link to /bin/awk from /usr/bin/awk.

Has anyone else come across this problem? Anybody know how to fix it?
