Don't ask me why, suddenly I can print the pages from acroread (but not xpdf). One page every ten, fifteen minutes, but it works. I had tried acroread and xdpf in the very beginning before I had the idea to convert the whole monster file to ps. I'd still like to now what's going on, and about the main differences between the three PostScript levels. But it's not as urgent any more. Thank _you all_ very much for your help. -- Andre
